CONNECTIONS 2012
In 2011, we began a fantastic new initiative at our school. Twice a week, we have teachers and students arranged to meet in vertically arranged groups called CONNECTIONS. ‘Vertically arranged’ means we have a few students from each year level P-9 in a pastoral group together. The intent being that those children will stay with that group for the time that they’re at our school. The students will simply move up through the school but this important time will remain consistent and with a special teacher.
As a College staff we’re very excited about this work. We absolutely believe that it’s an important and valuable structure to put in place to support our students and build their CONNECTIONS to our whole College community. The time will also support our buddies program and provide a real vehicle for leadership development for our Year 9 students.
You’ll be hearing more about CONNECTIONS as the year continues…
Please talk to your son/daughter about their experiences in this time.
CONNECTIONS means to…
· Connect with one another
· Connect with students from across our whole school
· Connect with our teachers
· Connect with our strengths
· Connect with Positive Education
· Connect with our school, our environment and our world
